Xian was the starting point of the Silk Road. A number of merchants and students from muslim countries went to Xian for business and studying. Some of them settled down and, one generation after another, the descendants of those people are now a large community. Streets are colorful and crowded by people selling and buying food. The Great Mosque is the most important mosques of Xian.
