Genesis 11:31. "Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there". Harran, 44Km southeast of Sanliurfa, has a long history. It also has a present. The population of the village today is made up mostly of ethnic Arabs. I was lucky enough to visit Harran on a Sunday morning while a wedding ceremony was taking place.
